Our Challenge

To create an innovative / original / new puzzle game that’s fun to play and has not been seen before.

Our Solution

We started with the incredibly popular game “Sudoku” and then, by applying three transformations, we turned it into a novel / new variant.

Tranformation 1 : Turn the square into a circle:

This still works as a game of sudoku:

• Each slice has a number 1..9
• Each circular ring has a number 1..9

Transformation 2 : Infinite Levels:

Now that it's circular, the game has an infinite number of levels!

This is far superior to "standard" 9x9 square sudoku.

• "Level 3" has 3 rings and 3 slices, each filled with numbers 1 to 3.
• "Level 4" has 4 rings and 4 slices, each filled with numbers 1 to 4.
• "Level 5" has 5 rings and 5 slices, each filled with numbers 1 to 5.
• This game isn't mathematically constrained and there can be an infinite number of levels!
• This game can be as simple or complex as a user wants.
• The only rule in this version of the game is that (number of rings = number of slices).

Transformation 3 : Square the circle!

Then we took each curved cell and squared it off into a quadrilateral polygon:

When we look at the game again, we see that the game changes shape at each level!

• Level 3 game is a Triangle.
• Level 4 game is a Square.
• Level 5 game is a Pentagon.
• Level 6 game is a Hexagon.
• Level 7 game is a Heptagon (Septagon).
• Level 8 game is a Octagon.
• Level 9 game is a Nonagon (Enneagon).
• Level 10 game is a Decagon.
• Level 11 game is a Hendecagon (Undecagon).
• Level 12 game is a Dodecagon.

These three transformations lead to a new / novel sudoku variant with a rich user experience and infinite levels of difficulty.
